Liner Notes
The opening is the most visceral start the archive has produced. "Carmina Burana Remix (Techno of the Opera)" at 0:00 — Carl Orff's medieval cantata reimagined as techno, those famous choral voices sharpened into a dancefloor weapon. Fred again..'s "Clara (the night is dark)" at 3:45 follows, his first track named after darkness. The colour palette has shifted from the warm, communal Fred again.. of Mix 22 into something more nocturnal. Dani L. Mebius' Billie Eilish "Bad Guy" remix at 1:15 keeps the mood low-lit and intense.
Erre's "Always the Same Eyes" returns at 19:45 — now its fourth appearance, spanning from Mix 01 through Mix 02 and Mix 13 to here. The thread connecting the very beginning to the present remains unbroken. It will surface one final time in Mix 46, bookending the entire seven-year journey. Shouse's "Love Tonight" reappears at 20:15, a track that has grown from its quiet debut in Mix 07 into one of dance music's most recognisable records. The DJ played it before it became ubiquitous — an instinct now validated by history.
Anyma & CamelPhat's "The Sign" at 19:15 introduces the melodic techno crossover that dominated 2022-2023. Anyma — the solo project of Tale Of Us' Matteo Milleri — represents the commercial peak of a movement the archive has been tracking since its early Energy 52 inclusions. The arc connects: from the 1993 Balearic original to the Anyma generation, the thread has evolved but never broken. Tinlicker's "Just To Hear You Say" in a Joseph Ray Remix at 15:45 and Carlita's "The Way You Say" in LP Giobbi's remix at 10:15 complete a melodic opening act that rewards attentive listening.
The middle section accelerates to full speed. Between 37:00 and 52:00: Bombay Traffic at 37:30, Lil Wayne's "A Milli" in a SIDEPIECE remix at 38:15, Panjabi MC at 39:30, Gillette's "Short Short Man" at 40:45, David Guetta's "Memories" at 41:00, Andy Compton's "That Acid Track" at 50:00, PAX & Rui Da Silva's "Touch Me" at 50:30, Hannah Laing's "Climax" at 51:15. Hip-hop, novelty pop, Punjabi bhangra, deep house, Ibiza classic — all compressed into fifteen minutes. The DJ is mixing at full speed, trusting their instincts over any sense of genre propriety. Kylie Minogue's "Love At First Sight" at 34:15 — pure pop joy — sits comfortably in the midst of it all.
The Weeknd's "Take My Breath" at 53:30 leads into its own remix at 56:15 — original into dance rework, the song examined from two angles. Oliver Tree's "Miss You" in another remix at 57:15 continues the pop-to-dance translation technique the archive has refined over twenty-four chapters. Joey Negro & The Sunburst Band's "Journey To The Sun" in Dennis Ferrer's remix at 49:15 reaches back into soul-inflected house, and Elio Riso's "Breaking Minds" at 44:30 connects to the archive's earliest deep house vocabulary.
Skrillex, Fred again.. & Flowdan's "Rumble" at 1:08:15 is the biggest bass music track of 2023 — a collaboration between three of electronic music's most compelling voices, placed near the close where it hits hardest. A hardcore mash-up at 1:09:30 follows immediately, turning the ending into an event. LDRU's "Alone Again" at 1:09:45 provides the cool-down, but the memory of "Rumble" lingers long after. The mix that opened with a medieval cantata closes with bass music's most brutal drop. Between those two points lies everything this DJ has become — eclectic, fearless, building always toward the moment that matters most.
